Responsibilities

The Port Authority offers paid summer internships to students that provide the opportunity to work with knowledgeable and experienced professionals on assignments critical to operating, maintaining, and expanding the transportation infrastructure for one of the greatest economies in the world.

Assignments include hands-on projects to cultivate technical, writing, communication and team-building skills. The diversity of our businesses creates a variety of opportunities for students to gain exposure to the work of a first-class public agency

The PATH department is looking for a summer intern to join their team in the Capital Project Management unit! Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Assist with Railcar Overhaul Program Ship/Receive tracking
• Provide database migration of archived documents from servers to cloud storage
• Assist with monthly financial reporting and invoicing processes in financial reporting systems such as ICMS and SAP
• Visit active capital project sites with project managers and assist in meeting summary preparation and required documentation
• Assist PATH management teams at Journal Square Transportation Center in Jersey City, NJ as well as the Harrison Car Maintenance Facility in Harrison, NJ

About the Capital Project Management Department:

PATH CPMD supports PATH’s ability to provide our customers with a reliable, efficient ridership experience by replacing assets to maintain the overall system in a state of good repair. Our managers work closely with PATH Operations staff to prioritize these replacements to ensure funding is utilized in the most cost-effective manner.

Qualifications

• Students must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program for the upcoming Fall 2022 school semester.
• We are seeking interns who are talented, driven and who have a genuine interest in contributing to the success of the New York/New Jersey region.
• We welcome applications from a diverse range of University disciplines and concentrations.
• Successful candidates will be self-starters with excellent communication, research and applicable technical skills.

This will be a full-time (5 days/week), hybrid (in-person and virtual) internship expected to last until the end of August.
