Talent Acquisition Sourcer

The Human Resources Department currently has an opening in our Talent Acquisition Division for a Talent Acquisition Sourcer. In this position, you will support the entire division in generating a highly qualified, diverse pipeline of candidates for various Port Authority/PATH positions. 

You’ll play an integral role in building the agency’s talent pipeline by establishing a pipeline of candidates for current and anticipated needs in a fast-paced environment. You’ll work a key partner with our Recruiters to understand their job openings and then develop and implement sourcing strategies to ensure a steady stream of ready-now candidates. 

This position will support several different areas of our business (i.e. Engineering/Architecture, Corporate, Operations & Maintenance) at all levels.

In this role, you can expect to:

  • Partner with Recruiters to understand their roles, hiring needs and goals of their client departments
  • Implement comprehensive sourcing strategies to attract candidates, analyzing requirements to determine target candidate profile needs
  • Engage passive candidates using a variety of tools and techniques (LinkedIn, Indeed, job boards, CRM, social media, cold calling, Boolean searches)
  • Champion the Port Authority by positioning and promoting us as an Employer of Choice 
  • Develop relationships with candidates with the goal of building a pipeline of candidates for specific openings or functions
  • Conduct phone interviews and in person (when appropriate) to assess candidates’ skills and qualifications for current and future openings
  • Continuously nurture and maintain relationships with potential candidates through targeted outreach and engagement
  • Maintain comprehensive records and candidate information in Candidate Relationship Management tool
  • Manage the agency’s external recruitment outreach efforts at career fairs, networking events, community outreach programming
  • Participate in workforce and talent planning efforts 


Candidates must present the following qualifications to be considered eligible for this position:

  • 2+ years of experience in identifying and sourcing talent for multiple business units or functions. Your experience should include utilizing a variety of methods including online databases, LinkedIn, and/or social media
  • Demonstrated experience in engaging with and attracting passive candidates
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills


Ideal candidates will present the following profile:

  • Previous experience with Talemetry or another Candidate Relationship Management tool is highly preferred
  • Excellent interviewing, multi-tasking, prioritizing, organizational, project management, customer service, problem solving, and communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience sourcing candidates for hard to fill positions
  • Familiarity with hiring procedures as well as current staffing industry issues and trends
  • Demonstrated experience developing and executing sourcing strategies
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • Understanding of employment laws, policies, practices and trends
  • Strong computer skills including strong knowledge of HRIS systems, experience with PeopleSoft is preferred
