Supervisor, B2B Marketing - Temporary

Responsibilities

This temporary role reports to the Senior Manager, Marketing and Communications, the Supervisor, B2B Marketing will support and coordinate the development and implementation of business-to-business marketing communications programs for the Port Authority, primarily for the Port Department, and will include support for B-to-B (B2B) work on behalf of the Port Authority’s supplier diversity efforts, sustainability programs, annual report, as well as other business-oriented communications as needed. The position works with the Port Authority’s advertising agency of record on marketing communications projects, as well as working collaboratively on communications projects with the Port Authority’s in-house Creative Services unit and other vendors as needed.

This role will provide planning and communications support for the client departments, while managing a high volume of day-to-day communications projects.  This involves using a variety of communication channels such as digital, print publications, and brochures, executive presentations, industry briefing events, video campaigns, email campaigns, web communications, and social media to reach target audiences.

This role will consult, communicate and understand client objectives while supporting the development of effective messaging, strategies, and measurable tactics.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Execute strategic B-to-B marketing communications plans in order to assist client departments in achieving their business plan goals.
  • Execute a high-volume of marketing communications projects, which use a variety of communications channels and vendor resources, from conception to completion.
  • Review and track invoice payments, accruals, reporting, and measurement.
  • Write email copy for distribution through Constant Contact to Port email database
  • Review and feedback on creative and copy
  • Attend business line meetings, take notes, provide recaps and discuss/plan next steps
  • Communicate with line departments and stakeholders to keep projects moving
  • Create weekly marketing report for business lines activities
  • Develop marketing creative briefs with clear direction of the project and outcomes keeping the customer in mind
  • Report on marketing activities and projects outcomes and lessons learned
  • Other tasks as necessary

Note - This is a long term, temporary assignment expected to last approximately six months.

Qualifications

Candidates must present the following qualifications to be considered eligible for this position:

  • Minimum of one year experience in marketing communications
  • Project management skills, working with creative/communications projects from development through production and delivery
  • Understanding of corporate identity and branding practices.
  • Strong attention to detail and initiative
  • Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal communication and presentation skills
  • Time management and organization skills

Desired

Ideal candidates will present the following profile:

  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Marketing or related disciples
  • Business-to-Business marketing and communications experience
  • Familiarity with Port Authority MWSBE policies and practices
  • Understanding of Title VI legislation and regulations
  • Familiarity with social media, website content maintenance, and Constant Contact email system
