The Major Capital Projects (MCP) Department has overall responsibility for the delivery of the reconstructed WTC site including the WTC Transportation Hub, WBVA, PATH Extension to Newark Airport, PABT Replacement, as well as planning for a new cross harbor freight tunnel among other projects. We are currently seeking a talented individual for the position of Program Director to be involved with one or more of the MCP programs.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the Assistant Director of MCP, this position is a vital member of the department managing all aspects of the program(s) including the complex relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, such as PATH, WTCR, MTA, Amtrak, Performing Arts Center (PAC), and other WTC stakeholders, NJT, FRA, FTA, elected officials, community boards, consultants, construction managers, and contractors, etc.
The individual must understand the complex business agreements with the Port Authority partners (Amtrak, NJT, MTA, FTA, USDOT,) other WTC Stakeholders such as SPI & Durst, the individual program components, budgets, metrics, memoranda of understanding, phasing and prepare routine reports and presentations for meetings and other assigned duties. The selected candidate’s overall responsibility is program management including cost control, design and construction (including reporting on both PA and stakeholder projects), for conducting in-depth analysis of issues; assisting in decision-making through information and briefings; and attending senior level meetings to establish courses of action, including implementation. The person will meet regularly with both partners and MCP staff and ensure resolution of program related issues and must have excellent negotiating and persuasion skills so that program activities are not delayed.
