The Procurement Department is looking for a summer intern to join their team in the Warehouse & Inventory Control Management Division! Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
About the Procurement Department:
The Procurement Department’s purpose is to procure quality goods, services, construction and professional, technical and advisory services based on the principles of open competition and fairness with the highest level of integrity. The Procurement Department consists of six divisions – Alternate Project Delivery, Commodities and Services, Construction Procurements, Integrity, Compliance and Contract Review, Procurement Operations, Technology Procurements, Professional, Technical & Advisory (PTA) Services and Warehouse & Inventory Management, which is comprised of five warehouses and two emergency warehouses.
The Warehouse and Inventory Management Division (WIM) is comprised of five Port Authority facility warehouses which support facility and fleet operations and two emergency equipment warehouses that store generators, light towers pumps and AC/Heater units which are deployed at OEM’s request during emergencies. In addition, this division is responsible for creating and maintaining service and requirements contracts needed to support the material needs at all PA facilities; overseeing and administering the agency’s Procurement Card Program, Gift Card Program, Surplus Sales and Investment Recovery Programs.
Our Warehouse & Inventory Management Division’s JAMS warehouse is located at 777 Jersey Avenue, Jersey City, NJ.
This will be an in-person internship opportunity.
*This internship is expected to be a fulltime (3 days/wk) internship lasting 12 weeks.
