The Marketing Department – Communications is looking for a summer intern to join their team in the Marketing Communications unit! Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Working mainly on the Port, TBT and PATH business line departments developing materials for presentations, customer advisories, brochures, Web page updates, tracking social feeds and developing social content.
  • Assisting with environmental media installations, audits, and trade shows.
  • Assisting with photo shoots, recordings, internet research, and many other activities that support the Unit’s broad range of communications.

About the Marketing Department – Marketing Communications:

This Unit is responsible for communicating with all Port Authority’s customers who use our airports, tunnels, bridges, terminals and the PATH system, World Trade Center site neighborhood and visitors, Port and Air Cargo business-to-business customers, community residents and the public interested in and affected by the Authority’s operations and activities.  The Unit also provides important communications support for the Port Authority staff functions such as Procurement, Engineering, Human Resources, Emergency Management, Port Authority Police, and Real Estate. 


  • Students must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program for the upcoming Fall 2022 school semester.
  • We are seeking interns who are talented, driven and who have a genuine interest in contributing to the success of the New York/New Jersey region.
  • We welcome applications from a diverse range of University disciplines and concentrations.
  • Successful candidates will be self-starters with excellent communication, research and applicable technical skills.



  • Self-starter and the ability to work well independently.
  • Demonstrated writing ability.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Photo Shop and MS Office PC applications, including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent oral, interpersonal and organization skills and demonstrated knowledge of Internet use and research.
  • Basic knowledge of e-communication development and knowledge of social media channels including the use of Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, and other online tools and networking sites.


This will be a hybrid internship opportunity, meaning that it will be virtual and in-person throughout the summer.

*This internship is expected to be a Fulltime internship lasting 12 weeks.
