The Audit Department is responsible for providing internal auditing services at the Port Authority, including reviews of business processes, systems and operations, as well as the examinations of the records of tenants and contractors that do business with the Port Authority. The Audit Department reports to the Inspector General and the Audit Committee of the Board of Commissioners.
The Contracts Audits Division reviews construction-related bills issued to the Agency by Port Authority contractors, as well as bills issued to the Agency for maintenance, service, and other work performed by contractors in support of facility operations and maintenance.
The Business Process Audits Division performs audits to evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls in Port Authority business processes, functions and activities, and to assess compliance with applicable policies, procedures and regulatory requirements.
The selected candidate, working under the direction of senior auditors, will participate in the planning of audits and conduct reviews of various Port Authority functions, operations and business processes, including reviews of private sector partners doing business with the Port Authority. Reviews will include, developing the audit scope and audit program; executing the audit work, including the gathering and analysis of required data and information, preparation of work papers and the drafting of reports summarizing the results of the audit and recommendations for improvement, as well as communicating audit results to auditee management. While based at the Journal Square Transportation Center, the position may require working at various PA facilities.
