The Port Authority of NY & NJ is seeking a dynamic Data Performance Analyst to join the Tunnels, Bridges & Terminals Department - Tolls Revenue Operations & Systems Division.  You will be developing and utilizing business analytics, dashboards, and business intelligence tools to support actionable findings to protect the Port Authority’s toll revenue stream, which is the largest single source of revenue in the agency. The selected candidate will be part of a growing team as the agency is replacing a legacy toll system and moving to All Electronic Tolling.  Position may require some limited weekend and/or holiday hours of work.

The position is responsible for the following activities:

  • Compile, validate, manage and analyze data that will be used to build various reports for the Tolling Group, Senior and Executive Management.
  • Write Oracle/MySQL advanced queries and PL/SQL code.
  • Create and maintain a library query and report designs.
  • Compile data from various systems and perform quantitative and qualitative data analyses for internal and external use.
  • Analyze data to identify trends and generate forecast models.
  • Present data findings clearly so Management understands and can determine a course of action.


Candidates must present the following qualifications to be considered eligible for this position:

  • Must possess a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics or a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Three (3) years experience using SQL, including writing and tuning SQL and advanced SQL queries using Oracle;  or equivalentor equivalent;
  • Demonstrated experience in Business Intelligence (BI). 
  • Demonstrated experience creating Dashboards using various BI tools.
  • Demonstrated experience designing reports, graphics and dashboards using Power BI Experience designing and managing data warehousing.
  • Demonstrated advance Microsoft Excel skills



Ideal candidates will present the following profile:

  • Familiarity with multiple database and reporting technologies.
  • Experience performing ETL.
  • Knowledge of SAS.
  • Experience in Oracle database administration and UNIX shell scripting.
  • Experience in Object Oriented Programming.
  • Experience writing Excel Macros.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Able to work well in a team environment, handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of toll collection and/or back-office operations.
