Responsibilities

The Landside Operations Supervisor at LaGuardia Airport may be assigned to various positions:

  • Provide best-in-class customer service to patrons at bus and taxi loading zones
  • Supervise airport ground transportation operations, including oversight of the Taxi Dispatchers, Ground Transportation Agents, and Customer Service Representatives.
  • Oversee bus and taxi loading zones at Terminals B, C, and D
  • Verify all For-Hire Vehicle Pick-Up Area signage is in place ensure the set-up is organized and remains in place the entire time.
  • Continuous monitoring of the Pedestrian Traffic Managers to verify they are moving cars in to the loading zones and expediting customer matching to drivers.

Selected incumbents will also be required to perform airport emergency response, including airside and landside snow removal, and other duties which may be assigned from time-to-time by the General Manager, Operations Manager, Airport Duty Manager, or designee.

Qualifications

Candidates must present the following qualifications to be considered eligible for this position:

  • Bachelor's degree in Aviation, Airport Operations Management or related field from an accredited institution.
  • Three (3) years full-time paid aviation operations work experience will be considered in lieu of the Bachelor's degree.
  • Valid driver's license

Selected candidates will be subject to a comprehensive background check and must pass a fingerprint-based Criminal History Record Check as mandated by 49 CFR 1542 to obtain and maintain an airport Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) Card.

Desired

Ideal candidates will present the following profile:

  • Knowledge of airport terminal, security, landside, and aeronautical operations
  • Knowledge of and ability to apply the standards of FAR Part 139
  • Ability to obtain a Police Department Shotgun Permit upon appointment to the position
  • Knowledge of Airport Traffic Control (ATC) procedures and instructions
  • Ability to communicate on the radio using proper terminology while operating a vehicle with FAA Air Traffic Control

Compensation & Benefits

This is a represented position subject to collective bargaining agreement. The starting salary is $67,262, rising to $87,126 after eight years with additional annual increases. This position is overtime eligible, and comes with a comprehensive and competitive health insurance, pension, and benefit package.
