Talent Management Associate (Temporary)

Responsibilities

The Port of Authority of New York & New Jersey is seeking a Talent Management Associate to support both strategic and tactical components of the employee engagement strategy, culture transformation and goal to enhance the overall employee experience.

Role & Responsibilities

The incumbent will support the agency’s business priority to be an Employer of Choice and focus on key culture aspects that make the agency a great place to work.   As a member of the HR Business Strategy & Solutions team within the Human Capital Department, the incumbent will leverage global best practices to develop practical resources for implementation.  

Specific duties include: 

  • Assist in the administration and de-brief Employee Culture and Engagement Survey
  • Conduct research on best practice, create scalable tools that meet the unique needs of the agency’s diverse line businesses and functions to enable engagement action planning
  • Contribute to the post-survey engagement strategy that promotes talent development, inclusive behavior, as well as reinforces ethics and integrity as cornerstones to organizational health in partnership with a diverse set of stakeholders
  • Help identify the near and long-term approach and set targets for employee engagement metrics
  • Support efforts to determine approach, timing and utility for pulse surveys 

Note – This is a long term, temporary position expected to last approximately 9 months.

Qualifications

Candidates must present the following qualifications to be considered eligible for this position:

  • 1 -3 years’ relevant experience in HR, Learning and Development, Organization Development or organization culture 

Desired

Ideal candidates will present the following profile:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial / Organizational Psychology, Human Resources, Business Administration or a related discipline; candidates with a Master’s degree are highly preferred 
  • Demonstrated track record managing projects in a complex, highly matrixed structure 
  • Solid problem-solving ability with a results oriented, solutions-based approach
  • Ability to influence across all levels of the organization with internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and oral, (critical) with a focus on teamwork and engagement
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge or professional interest in managing HR / OD data analytics
