System Administrator

Responsibilities

The Port Authority of NY & NJ has a vacancy for a Systems Administrator to support ongoing production maintenance, monitoring and system enhancements of the Server Infrastructure. The systems Administrator has the primary responsibility of Leading the administration and technical support of our Windows and Linux server environment as well as collaborating with the server team and helpdesk to deliver on IT initiatives.

Job Summary.

• Configuration, Administration and on-going support of Linux Red Hat in a production enterprise environment
• Collaborate with the Server Team and helpdesk on various IT initiatives including upgrade and migration projects
• Assist in implementing, executing, maintaining, and documenting proper DR and BC procedures
• Proactive monitoring and issue resolution
• Report writing and process and procedure documentation
• Other duties as required

Qualifications

Candidates must present the following qualifications to be considered eligible for this position:

• Must have installation, performance tuning, troubleshooting expertise with RHEL
• Strong scripting skills with experience in Perl, Python, Bash or other scripting languages
• In depth knowledge of administering Red Hat Satellite
• Must have extensive experience working with VMWare, ESXi
• Experience with Windows Server, Active Directory and PowerShell
• Experience with ADFS, Azure AD Connect & SSO
• Experience installing, maintaining and configuring services such as BIND, Sendmail, Apache, Etc.
• Enterprise Environment exposure
• Knowledge of ITIL
