The Aviation Department of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey is currently seeking an experienced Manager, Airport Administration to develop and implement plans for the efficient management of New York Stewart International Airport’s (SWF) internal support resources.  SWF is located less than 60 miles from Manhattan and is convenient alternative to the NYC metropolitan region’s airports. Under the direction of the General Manager of SWF, the Manager, Airport Administration will conduct audits and supervise finances of contract administration and authorize expenditure of funds consistent with an approved facility budget. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Contract Management: Handle all aspects of managing the operations and maintenance contract, including ensuring the contract is effectively managed and Port Authority accounting, finance, information technology, procurement and administrative policies and procedures are adhered to
  • Budget Preparation and Management: Prepare the airport’s unit operating budget, monitor expenses, produce reports, and perform financial analysis to ensure optimal use of financial resources
  • Customer Service and Security Programs: Oversee the security and customer service contract for the airport, including reviewing schedules and invoices for accuracy. Ensure the delivery of a quality customer experience through partnerships with tenants, customers, and community leaders
  • Airport Administration: Handle all administrative, workforce management, and policies/procedures for SWF, including but not limited to administration of the board process, technology coordination, training, travel, petty cash, business continuity, and special events


Candidates must present the following qualifications to be considered eligible for this position:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in contract administration, budget management, finance, or audit
  • Experience administering, monitoring, analyzing and interpreting the contract financial impacts/reporting
  • Experience working as an independent contributor managing department financial plans, setting project priorities, coordinating actives and delegating tasks.
  • Experience working with a diverse team where you have negotiated and influenced financial/budgeting decisions
  • Experience presenting financial reports to a varied audience


Ideal candidates will present the following profile:

  • Any Aviation process experience in contract administration
  • Prior experience with the Port Authority’s accounting system or budget preparations
  • Prior RFP renewal/preparation process experience
  • Demonstrated knowledge of PA administrative policies and procedures, with in-depth knowledge of board authorization process and human resources administrative procedures
