About the Role

The Office of Inspector General (OIG) works to keep the agency corruption-free. To accomplish this, the OIG detects, receives, and investigates allegations of fraud, corruption, waste, and abuse with respect to employees, or other individuals or organizations doing business with the Port Authority, who attempt to corrupt or unlawfully interfere with Port Authority operations. The Inspector General is looking for highly skilled individuals to join his team in support of the mission  to enhance and defend the integrity of the Port Authority's programs and operations. Reporting directly to the Executive Business Manager, the duties of this position are highly confidential and involve the handling of sensitive documentation. The selected candidate is expected to maintain confidentiality and discretion. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Assist in administering all Human Resources programs and processes for the Office
  • Perform and oversee timekeeping functions for all OIG staff
  • Prepare and coordinate all business and training related travel and expense documentation
  • Prepare requisitions, purchase orders, service entries for payment utilizing SAP or Agency Vendor Management
  • Assist with budget preparation; analyze expenditures and research significant variances
  • Manage the Board Authorization Process
  • Serve as Records Management Coordinator
  • Serve as WageWorks Program Benefit Coordinator and Tuition Coordinator
  • Compose, edit, and review correspondence for senior management staff
  • Coordinate employee programs, activities as needed
  • Perform other related duties and assignments as required

 

  Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration or related field, or 5 years of increasingly responsible experience managing administrative or other business processes
  • Must meet all performance and attendance standards and have completed all probationary periods
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of Microsoft Office, and other programs including PeopleSoft and SAP
  • Must successfully pass an OIG background check

 

 Desired Qualifications

  • Ability to work independently, organize work, prioritize multiple concurrent assignments within strict deadlines, and work under pressure.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Port Authority organizational structure, policies, and procedures
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise good judgement and discretion in handling confidential information

 

Selection Process
