The Aviation department is looking for a summer intern to join their Landside Operations team at JFK Airport!

About the JFK Landside Operations Division:

The Landside Operations Division at JFK Airport manages various Transportation and Customer Services related contractors (parking, bussing, taxi dispatch, customer service reps, homeless outreach, snow, construction, etc.). The responsibility encompasses all aspects of the airport outside of the airfield. JFK is in the midst of an 18-billion-dollar redevelopment project that will transform the airport over the next ten years. This construction puts added pressure on Landside Operations to preserve customer experience as we navigate an uncertain and ever-changing environment.

Responsibilities:

• Develop presentation materials, organize and lead meetings, regularly communicate with stakeholders to seek input and communicate progress, and develop analyses and tracking systems. The intern will work closely with the team, providing regular updates and seeking guidance as needed.
• Manage and deliver at least one initiative regarding a Landside contractor. The project will require a scope document, cost-benefit analysis, and a summary document when the initiative is completed.

Qualifications:

• Enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program through the Fall 2024 semester (August 2024 or beyond)
• Experience with Microsoft apps such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, etc.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Interest in contributing to the success of the New York and New Jersey region
• Interest in public service and/or transportation
• Willingness to learn

Desired

• Interest in Aviation/Transportation
• Experience in Contract Management, Statistical Analysis/Interpretation, and Project Management

Internship Details:

• The start date will be Thursday, May 30 with an orientation that will take place at 4 World Trade Center in Lower Manhattan
• The internship will last 12 weeks, ending on Friday, August 23
• This is a full-time internship (generally 5 days per week at 7.25 hours of work per day plus a 45-minute break)
• The format is expected to be hybrid, partially virtual and partially in-person at JFK Airport
• The hourly salary range is $17.20 to $28.85 (the hourly salary is determined by internship type and school year)
