Description

Responsibilities:

Under the close supervision of the Reproductions Equipment Supervisor or Principal Reproductions Equipment Operator, perform various types of reproduction work and digital format printing.  Operate printing presses and is responsible for own work which is evaluated based on quality, productivity, and efficiency.    

 Perform reproduction work including collating, preventative maintenance, and minor repairs on related equipment, and transporting of finished product.    

  • Set up, operate, and clean sheet-fed offset printing and duplicating equipment doing all types of offset reproductions, including half-tones, work requiring critical register, and work in several colors.
  • Operating the following equipment:  Xerox Nuvera 144, Ryobi 3200CD, Heidelberg Printmaster QM46, Oce’900 and Oce’910, Mitsubishi DPX2 Platemaker, Duplo System 4000 Bookletmaker, Perfecta Cutters 45” and 36”, Morgana Digifold, Brackett Circular Padder, Baumfolder 2020 and other comparable machines, or advanced designed machines used for the same purposes as those machines listed above.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and minor repairs on offset reproduction equipment.
  • Perform collating on automatic collators such as the Duplo collators equipped with automatic folding and saddle stitching equipment; plastic comb binding on semi-automatic and manual equipment; paper punching; paper trimming on electro-hydraulic equipment; folding and setting up, operating, cleaning, and doing preventive maintenance and making minor repairs on all bindery equipment.
  • Scanning of documents and saving as a PDF.
  • Make recommendations regarding operations, materials, and equipment in the Reproduction Section.
  • Distinguish colors to ensure quality of reproduction work.
  • Acts as the Principal Reproduction Equipment Operator in his/her absence.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Candidates must present the following qualifications to be considered eligible for this position:    

  • Graduated from a standard four-year high or vocational school or possess a recognized equivalency certificate.
  • One year work experience in operating various duplicating, printing, and associated equipment.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of operation and maintenance of all types of reproduction equipment including offset duplicators, Engineering Drawing machines (Oce), photo-direct and plate making equipment, collators, folders, trimming, punching and other bindery equipment.
  • Recognize paper quality and characteristics.
  • Perform physical labor in relation to duties such as lifting and transporting heavy packages up to 40 pounds.
  • Be able to workday and night shifts, with overtime required, as well as weekend and holiday work.
