This position will primarily serve as the Electrical Unit’s A Tour Supervisor and will oversee the preventive and corrective maintenance activities of the Electric Shop on the aeronautical field during nightly closures. As such, the successful candidate for this position will work a set 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM schedule (A Tour) from Sunday night - Thursday night.
Candidate must be able to pass a fingerprint-based Criminal History Records Check as mandated by 49 CFR 1542 and will be required to obtain and maintain an airport Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) credential with Airfield (Movement Area - DR2) driving and escort privileges. SIDA access and airfield driving, and escort privileges require a valid driver’s license, SIDA training and successful completion of a SIDA test and airfield movement area check ride.
Responsibilities:
Under the direction of the Chief Maintenance Supervisor, the selected candidate will be responsible for supervising the activities of skilled journey men in the maintenance and repair of LGA Airports’ electrical systems which include and are not limited to: The incumbent will ensure that the runway and taxiway lights are optimal and conform to FAA FAR 139 certifications. The incumbent will also perform airfield inspections and walk-throughs, update Maximo and the Maintenance Management Information System as well as attend meetings related to the runway and taxiway rehabilitation projects, this may require the selected candidate to work on an overtime basis as a regular function of the job. At times the selected candidate will be required to respond to and remediate electrical abnormalities and/or preform electrical maintenance for Port Authority Buildings and Parking Lots/Garages, Fire Alarm systems, Low voltage Distribution systems, Signs and Street Traffic Lighting systems, etc. The successful applicant must be able to effectively plan, schedule, control maintenance projects and routines. Must be able to respond to declared emergencies, including snow conditions, and work on an overtime basis as a regular function of the job required.
