Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Staff Accounting Supervisor, the selected candidate's responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Monitoring and updating the Itinerant Aircraft Billing System to ensure seamless interface with SAP.
- Responding to inquiries from other PA departments and outside agencies.
- Assisting Credit, Collections, Accounts Receivable with invoice and payment inquiries.
- Year-end cost recovery reconciliations for EWR, JFK and LGA Flight Fees; JFK and EWR Fuel; and JFK, LGA and EWR FAR; EWR Monorail; and EWR and JFK Itinerants.
- Preparing Flight Fees for EWR, JFK and LGA monthly.
- Preparing EWR and JFK Airport Itinerant Billing invoices monthly and issuing credits when necessary.
- Reconciling and accounting for aircraft parking revenue at Newark Airport.
- Reconciling Stewart Airport’s cash receipts monthly.
- Post accrual and journal entries monthly based off cost recovery activity data.
- Set up Federal Aviation Regulation (FAR) billing for JFK, Newark, and LaGuardia Airport monthly.
- Prepare JFK Fuel and JFK Tenant Parking billing monthly.
Qualifications
Candidates must present the following qualifications to be considered eligible for this position:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or Corporate Finance from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 1 years of relevant work experience.
- In lieu of bachelor’s degree a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience can be accepted.

- Knowledge of GAAP as it relates to the Port Authority
- Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, work independently and prioritize work.
- Demonstrated strong analytical skills in reconciling financial information.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and communicate complex information clearly and accurately.
- Effective written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to interact effectively with internal and external staff at all levels.
- Working knowledge of SAP
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
