The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey is looking for a temporary Payroll Coordinator to join its team in the Comptroller's Department. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting the Payroll Accounting division on a wide variety of tasks.


  • Create, organize, and maintain logs of payroll documents to assist with the processing of separated employee payments.
  • Prepare and calculate an employee’s final earnings after authorized separation from service in accordance with Port Authority/PATH union contracts and Port Authority/PATH policy.
  • Analyze payroll query results and exception reports.  Adjust employee pay sheets as necessary.
  • Coordinate, manage and control of on-cycle and off-cycle payrolls in accordance with various contractual and legal requirements.
  • Prepare and process off cycle check requests. Cancel and reissue checks or direct deposit statements.
Note - This is a temporary assignment expected to last 6 - 8 months

- This postiion will be onsite at our offices at 2 Montgomery Street, Jersey City, NJ


Candidates must present the following qualifications to be eligible for this position:
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience, preferably in payroll processing.
  • Working knowledge of PeopleSoft or comparable software application.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel application required.
