The Port Authority Engineering Department’s Resilience & Sustainable Design (RSD) unit is seeking the services of a Senior Climate Resilience Specialist (Specialist).
Responsibilities
The primary responsibility of the Climate Resilience Specialist will be to manage a portfolio of Climate Risk Assessments (CRA), supported by consultant teams. The CRA is an ongoing initiative to assess the Authority’s full portfolio of assets to identify residual and emerging climate vulnerabilities—now and in the future—and to strategically mitigate the PA’s highest priority risks.
Generally, Assessments will include site assessments/asset inventories, analysis of current and future risks from multiple climate stressors, development of a risk registry, and development of cost-effective resilience measures for high priority risks.
The Specialist may also support the agency’s Climate Resilience program by contributing to guideline updates, research, technical working groups, and related activities, on an as-needed basis.
After initial orientation, the Specialist’s work will be primarily self-directed, with at least weekly supervisor check-ins and weekly team meetings. A portion of the Specialist’s duties may be performed at selected PA facilities and/or remotely.
