TITLE: Supervisor, Airport Transportation Services LGA

DIVISION: LaGuardia Airport Operations
LOCATION:  LaGuardia Airport (LGA)

 

Responsibilities:

 

Under the direction of the Assistant Manager of Landside Operations and Customer Service, the selected candidate will:

  • Have primary responsibility for managing large-scale contracts, processes and business relationships that support all customer and employee parking and intramural busing operations at LaGuardia Airport.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
    • Manage the demand for customer and employee parking
    • Managing oversight of LGA’s Parking Lot Revenue with an annual revenue over $50 million
    • Manage the Overflow Parking Plan
    • Manage the PARCS system
    • Manage the PA shuttle bus routes to Terminal A, B, C and LGA Discount Parking
    • Manage the maintenance of the electrical vehicle busses and hybrid busses
  • Prepare, manage, and track contract and project expenditures against unit budget and contract authorization amounts, and provide expenditure reporting to relevant facility staff
  • Coordinate routine performance reports and key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Be tasked with developing creative operational solutions to ever-changing facility transportation needs generated by the dynamic nature of LGA’s ambitious redevelopment goals
  • Interact frequently and collaboratively with internal stakeholders including represented staff, non- represented staff, and external stakeholders including airlines, terminal operators, federal and state agencies, and contractors
  • Promote the Aviation Department’s customer service vision by tracking and monitoring the performance of, and striving to improve, the parking and busing operations to meet LGA’s vision of world-class service

 

Qualifications:

 

Candidates must present the following qualifications to be considered eligible for this position:

 

·          Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university. In lieu of a degree, a minimum of 3 years’ experience in operations, transportation, business, or management. Qualification criteria to be considered in lieu of a bachelor’s degree include an associate degree, or a related field or a commensurate amount of experience in the transportation industry will also be considered 

·          Candidates without a Bachelor’s degree who have extensive experience in parking and bussing will also be considered

·          A minimum of two (2) years of progressively responsible experience in transportation management, project management, contract administration, or customer service

·          Experience managing service contracts and or invoices

 

Desired

 

Ideal candidates will present the following profile:

 

·          Experience in contract administration, including preparation of solicitation documents and familiarity with PA Audit requirements as they pertain to service and technology-based contracts

·          Experience with service contracts related to transportation services

·          Strong, demonstrated written and verbal communications and skills with internal and external stakeholders

·          Strong, organization and prioritization skills

·          Keen interest in managing and improving transportation programs with a customer service focus

·          Strong project management skills, including developing, implementing, and managing project plans, deliverables and schedules as well as managing contractor staff

·          Demonstrated ability to work independently and within a team to build relationships and interact with business partners, as well as with staff across various departments and facilities and at all levels of the agency to achieve specific goals

·          Demonstrated knowledge and experience with the Port Authority budget and accrual processes

·          Familiarity with airport landside operations, particularly as they pertain to ground transportation

 

Additional Information

 

·          The incumbent must be available 24/7 to respond to airport emergencies, e.g. inclement weather, natural disasters and other critical incidents affecting airport landside operations

·          The successful candidate must be able to pass a fingerprint-based Criminal History Record Check as mandated by 49 CFR 1542 and will be required to obtain and maintain an airport Security Identification Display Area (SIDA) ID card. SIDA access and airfield driving, and escort privileges also require SIDA training and successful completion of a SIDA test
