Staff Accountant, Revenue Accounting

As a reporting Department to the Chief Financial Officer, the Comptroller’s Department is a team of dedicated professionals who ensure the accuracy of the Port Authority’s finances. As part of the Comptroller’s Department team, you will gain insight and experience surrounding the agency’s financial structure and internal control processes as well as knowledge of the operations of our various lines of business, giving you extensive opportunities for a long-term career at the Port Authority. 

Reporting to the Staff Accounting Supervisor of Non-Aviation Lease & Unfixed Billings, the selected candidate’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

Review and interpret billing terms for all tenant leases at assigned non-Aviation facilities. 

Updating lease contracts in SAP for applicable GASB 87  Terms and conditions 

Execute rent roll and print / Email invoices on monthly basis. 

Preparation of delinquency reports for all bus carriers and assigned consumer service tenants. 

Monitoring, controlling and recording bus carrier departure fees at bus terminals. 

Billing and reporting revenues related to Events held at PA facilities. 

Responding to tenant inquiries regarding lease terms and billing. 

Preparation of monthly accrual journal vouchers. 

Preparation of monthly, quarterly, and year-end revenue variance analysis. 

Complete special assignments and respond to internal and external inquiries as required 


Candidates must present the following qualifications to be considered eligible for this position:


Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Corporate Finance from an accredited college or university with a minimum of 1 years of relevant work experience.  

In lieu of bachelor’s degree a minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience can be accepted. 


Ideal candidates will present the following profile:

Knowledge of General Ledger, and Revenue Systems. 

Demonstrated knowledge of SAP and Excel. 

Knowledge of the PA organization structure and accounting policies and procedure. 

Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines, work independently and prioritize work. 

Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with internal and external staff at all levels. 

Demonstrated analytic and problem solving abilities. 

Excellent oral and written communication skills.
