Staff Services Engineer, Environmental

Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Principal Environmental Engineer, the Staff Service Engineer’s responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: developing environmental site investigation and remedial action plans, preparing reports in accordance with State regulations, identifying Federal and State environmental permits required to complete new construction projects and for facility operational needs, overseeing implementation of environmental plans, preparing design and construction cost estimates, and developing technical specifications, notes and drawings in support of construction contracts.

Qualifications

Candidates must present the following qualifications to be considered eligible for this position:

 

  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college
  • The individual must have demonstrated experience in State regulations and regulatory processes related to soil and groundwater investigations, remediation and storage tank requirements. 
  • The selected candidate must have demonstrated experience in the preparation and development of engineering contract drawings.
  • Applicants must provide a writing sample of an environmental investigation / remedial action report that they have independently prepared.
  • A minimum of 6 years of progressively responsible experience in the aforementioned areas is required.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license

Desired

Ideal candidates will present the following profile:

  • A Professional Engineer’s license in NY and NJ is preferred
  • Experience performing such work at transportation facilities is preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to lead, manage, and prioritize multiple assignments
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to work independently and prioritize as required
  • Experience with CAD, GIS, databases and environmental statistics
