Senior Property Representative

Responsibilities

The Real Estate & Development department is looking for a Senior Leasing/Property Representative to join their team. Under the supervision of the Manager, Commercial Leasing, Real Estate Department, the selected candidate will be responsible for conducting complex real estate negotiations with current and potential Port Authority tenants at various facilities and the on-going management and administration of the resulting agreements, including those for retailers and office space. As directed by the Manager the selected candidate will also coordinate and manage other Agreements administered by the RES  department, such as parking agreements, fiber agreement, and camera agreements. 

The selected candidate will work with real estate brokers when appropriate, to maximize value and space utilization. They will prepare authorizing documents, including Agenda Items, Memoranda of Justification and Memoranda of Authorization, in accordance with the Port Authority's Authorization Procedure Guidelines that detail tenant investment, competitive fee structures and other items, and will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of Port Authority approval.

The Senior Property Representative will also coordinate tenant negotiations and development with other agency staff departments such as Law, Comptrollers and Risk Management; act as liaison between PA staff and the tenant to resolve outstanding issues; work with the SAP Real Estate Module and Yardi Real Estate Database and develop strategies to implement business policies.

Qualifications

Candidates must present the following qualifications to be considered eligible for this position:

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university
  • Minimum three (3) years of related work experience; experience should include substantially and progressively responsible experience in conducting or participating in lease negotiations.

Desired

Ideal candidates will present the following profile:

  • Graduate training/degree.
  • Minimum of two (2) years commercial real estate experience, preferably in leasing.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and within a team to build relationships internally and externally.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, work on multiple projects simultaneously while adhering to necessary timeframes and deadlines for completion.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Power Point); ability to adapt to new applications and programs
  • Demonstrated experience in decision making, problem solving and conflict resolution.
  • Knowledge/experience using project management techniques for managing projects to completion.
  • Excellent oral and written skills to support recommended solutions to senior management and others.
  • Understanding of financial analysis related to real estate transactions.
  • Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with senior level management of variousdisciplinesinsideandoutsidethePortAuthority.Demonstratedabilitytopersuadeandinfluenceasappropriate.
  • Demonstrated experience working collectively in the implementation of goals and objectives.
