The Aviation Department is seeking a Senior Business Intelligence Analyst who has interest in the aviation industry, data analytics, business intelligence, and wants to help support the strategy for long-term development of the Port Authority system of airports. The Senior Business Intelligence Analyst will be responsible for collecting, reporting, analyzing, and communicating the implications of passenger, operations, and cargo data from over 100 airlines at the five airports in the Port Authority system; John F. Kennedy International (JFK), LaGuardia (LGA), Newark Liberty International (EWR), Teterboro (TEB), and New York Stewart International (SWF) airports.
Reporting to the Manager of Strategic Analysis & Forecasting, this position serves a crucial role for the team that develops forecasting models, industry intelligence and strategic analysis to support the Aviation Department’s business and strategic plans, terminal and capacity improvements, and revenue estimates. The Senior Analyst manages the unit’s SQL Server database and is responsible for using Tableau, Power BI, and other analytical tools to perform the following duties:
In this role you would have the unique opportunity to generate short-term and long-term passenger and aircraft activity forecasts for all Port Authority airports that are complemented and enhanced by our aviation industry and economic research. The forecasts are used for a variety of internal planning and revenue forecasting purposes. In addition to forecast projections, the Unit produces analytical products (e.g., dashboards, and white papers) used by all staff within the Department and at PANYNJ airport facilities.
