Environmental Engineer

Reporting to a Principal Environmental Engineer, the Engineer’s responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: preparing contract drawings, technical specifications and cost estimates for construction projects based on Federal and State environmental regulations, assisting in developing and implementing plans and preparing reports for site investigations and remedial actions for submission to State Regulatory Agencies; and supporting environmental compliance requirements including obtaining environmental permits/approvals for facility operations.


Candidates must present the following qualifications to be considered eligible for this position:

  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college
  • Direct experience with performing soil and groundwater investigations in New York and New Jersey.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental requirements for construction projects in New York and New Jersey
  • An in-depth understanding of the related State regulations and regulatory processes, including the New Jersey Site Remediation Reform Act and related regulations, and be familiar with environmental permitting processes and requirements. 
  • A minimum of 4 years of progressively responsible experience in the aforementioned areas is required.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license


Ideal candidates will present the following profile:

  • A Master of Science degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college
  • Experience performing such work at aviation facilities and marine terminals is preferred.
  • An Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate is preferred 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to lead, manage, and prioritize multiple assignments
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to work independently and prioritize as required
  • Experience with CAD, GIS, databases and environmental statistics
