The Aviation of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey is currently seeking an experienced Supervisor, Airport Transportation Services to manage various contracts and customer service operations for LaGuardia airport.

Under the supervision of the Assistant Manager, Landside Operations & Customer Service, the Supervisor, Airport Transportation Services will be responsible for:

  • Serving as the contract administrator for the Taxi Operations & Dispatch contract, Pedestrian Traffic Management contract and forthcoming Operations Towing contract.
  • Managing all for-hire vehicle staging and customer pick-up operations, including managing meetings with for-hire vehicle companies such as Uber, Lyft, and non-app based companies.
  • Managing day-to-day operations and attend redevelopment planning meetings and develop operational plans for redevelopment impacts that require the temporary or permanent modification of the current operation.
  • Participating and coordinating with airlines and terminal operators, managing the relationship with the Taxi & Limousine Commission, and TNC companies
  • Responding to customer correspondence.
  • Developing construction and General Manager’s bulletins.
  • Acting as key liaison for rental car companies and off-airport hotels.
  • Attend redevelopment-related meetings.
  • Providing Irregular Operations support.
  • Being available to respond to the airport on a 24/7 basis to ensure delivery of customer service deliverables during Redevelopment projects, irregular operations, snow events and airport/aircraft emergencies.


Candidates must present the following qualifications to be considered eligible for this position:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Experience administering and managing service contracts at both single and multi-facility contact levels.
  • Knowledge of contract authorization process.
  • Valid driver’s license.


Ideal candidates will present the following profile:

  • Master’s degree in Public Administration.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Aviation, Transportation, Management, Business Administration or Political Science.
  • Familiarity with airport facility operations, especially Landside & Customer Service.
  • Experience supervising staff and managing staff performance.
  • Ability to work independently, to prioritize concurrent assignments and to manage time effectively.
  • Experience tracking budget performance with SAP and BudgetPro applications.
  • Proficiency in the use of various office computer programs, such as Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience in and knowledge of Port Authority procurement policies and procedures.
