Location: 2 Montgomery Street
Under the direct supervision of a Supervising Engineer, the selected candidate’s responsibilities will include, but are not limited to: performing technical duties focusing on maintaining a fire safe environment for the Port Authority (PA) employees, tenants, and patrons; performing field evaluation of physical conditions and of fire protection relevant to occupancy and construction at all PA facilities; conducting or witnessing annual and acceptance tests of fixed fire protection systems and equipment; reviewing and commenting on design documents (plans and specifications) for tenant and PA areas; participating in partial and final acceptance inspections to assure conformance with applicable codes and approved design documents; writing evaluation reports with recommendations for corrective actions; participating in special technical investigations or projects; performing as a fire protection engineering consultant;perform acceptance inspections/audits of new and/or restored fire protection systems and equipment; perform annual Post Construction Inspections/Tests of Fire Protection and Life Safety systems in existing buildings; prepare reports with recommendations for correction actions; perform design reviews of Fire Protection and Life Safety systems; be available to work outside of normal business hours as needed.
