The Plumber is a journey-level job title and performs diverse, highly skilled work in the installation, maintenance, repair and inspection of a wide variety of plumbing systems and equipment, such as:
The Plumber also will repair, clean, adjust and/or perform preventative plumbing maintenance on equipment, tools, machinery etc.

The Port Authority operates 24 hours, 7-days a week. Plumbers work a 40-hour week, which may include nights, weekends, holidays, overtime as needed and responding to emergencies during off hours.
Plumbers are assigned to work at our various facilities throughout the NY/NJ area.

Successful written-test candidates will be invited to participate in a hands-on performance test to measure your knowledge and skill in the installation, maintenance and repair of a variety of plumbing fixtures and equipment including gas, water, steam, waste and vent piping systems.

The Port Authority of NY & NJ is seeking to fill positions as journey-level PLUMBERS.
Starting Salary: $26.87 hourly. Plumbers are eligible for annual step increases up to an annual salary of $87,490 (subject to collective bargaining agreement).
