Location: 4 World Trade Center
Under the direction of the Supervisor, Workers’ Compensation (WC), this position is responsible for assisting with the overall administration of the self-insured workers’ compensation program, to include interaction with the agency’s authorized third party administrator, as well as internal staff and external medical and legal professionals. Perform special assignments on request.
Oversees the accident reporting process to ensure that injury reports are completed and sent to third party administrator (TPA) in a timely manner by all internal units.
Interacts with various levels of internal staff to ensure that reports are located and filed properly in accordance with agency’s protocol.
Conduct annual questionnaire/survey of long-term recipients to verify that continued WC benefits are appropriate.
Open, review and forward incoming mail (medical bills, notices of decisions, etc.) to the TPA for proper handling.
Attend monthly/quarterly WC team meetings with departmental representatives as well as TPA, OMS and Law staff.
Review for accuracy and coordinate the delivery of salary adjustments by calculating lost time claims submitted from the TPA to the Agency’s Accounting staff.
Review and audit requests from TPA for electronic transfers to fund WC bank account for claims payments.Also review and audit monthly claims’ payment reports and bank reconciliation statements provided by the TPA.
Provide customer service by responding to inquiries from injured employees, staff and outside counsel regarding workers’ compensation claims.Open, review and forward incoming mail (medical bills, notices of decisions, etc. to appropriate location).
Run Employee Run in PeopleSoft.
Quarterly bill payment for RMPG via SAP.
Review the Daily report from PAPD to ensure we have the corresponding 360’s.
Log closed files in TRIM that are returned from the TPA.
Review and upload the Daily Summary from TPA.
Serve as backup to the Senior Business Manager.
Candidates must present the following qualifications to be considered eligible for this position:
Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, finance or business.
Ideal candidates will present the following profile:
Demonstrated ability to use work independently, organize work, prioritize multiple concurrent assignments within strict deadlines, and work under pressure.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, to include Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Experience using PeopleSoft.
Experience entering invoices into SAP and using SAP to trace vendor, invoice and payment history.
Demonstrated ability to interact effectively with internal and external staff at all levels.
Possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
