Location: Port Authority Technical Cntr
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Strategic Preparedness, the successful candidate will provide subject matter expertise to the Agency’s terrorism risk management program, specifically supporting chemical, biological, and radiological detection programs. The position is responsible for representing the Office of Emergency Management’s interests in both the BioWatch and Secure the Cities programs as well as providing program support to pilot programs for emerging technologies. The position is also responsible for acting as the OEM Duty Officer to provide 24/7 response to emergency incidents at Agency properties, which includes liaison with Incident Command, and information dissemination to executive and senior staff, and coordination to fulfill resource requests. The position will also provide staff support for preparation of and area management during execution of multi-jurisdiction full-scale emergency and terrorism preparedness exercises and other assignments as directed by the Director, Office of Emergency Management.
Candidates must present the following qualifications to be considered eligible for this position:
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with course concentration in Homeland Security Emergency Management or related field.
3-5 years of progressive experience managing programs, developing analytical products, technical reports, and delivering management level presentations in the area of Emergency Management or related field.
Ideal candidates will present the following profile:
Ability to manage and complete multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
Demonstrated project management skills, including the preparation of written statements of work, internal and external resource allocation and coordination, managing a project budget and schedule.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite programs, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
Knowledge of methods and practices in physical security, operational security, and security systems through experience, training, or combination.
Knowledge of prevailing transportation security requirements imposed or recommended by government or industry regulators and entities.
Applicant must possess experience in emergency management and response operations.
Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated ability to perform complex technical analysis and writing assignments using common, practical, and appropriate research methods.
