The Port Authority of New York & New Jersey is a bi-state public agency responsible for promoting transportation and commerce, operating some of the busiest and most important transportation links in the region including bridges, tunnels, bus terminals, airports, PATH, AirTrain systems, and the NY/NJ seaport.

The Law Department is seeking a Senior Trial Preparation Coordinator for our Litigation group.  The Coordinator will support and work closely with a  team of attorneys to prepare cases for trial.   The successful candidate will have tenacity and excellent inter-personal skills as their work requires negotiating with internal and external parties to locate necessary records and witnesses, and coordinating with outside investigators to serve subpoenas and obtain trial material.

Reporting directly to the Assistant General Counsel, the Senior Trial Preparation Coordinator is responsible for a wide range of duties that include but are not limited to the following:
• Act as the Law Department’s liaison with all PA departments to foster relationships that encourage cooperation in obtaining discovery, inspecting accident sites, and obtaining statements in litigation matters
• Conduct site visits and interview employees with knowledge of facts surrounding litigation matters
• Hire and work with investigators to obtain surveillance, witness statements, and background checks on plaintiffs, and serve subpoenas , when necessary
• Gather and coordinate transfer of written discovery for attorneys and review discovery for completion
• Manage litigation vendor relationships that aid in discovery, investigations, and trial preparation 
• Coordinate all phases of trial preparation, including setting up meetings with witnesses, hiring expert witnesses, assembling exhibits for trial, and assisting at trial 
• Coordinate with City, State, and local authorities to obtain information and document discovery
• Attend and assist in court proceedings and coordinate witness attendance 



• Bachelor's degree and 3 years of relevant work experience
• Relevant experience includes Claims or Investigative experience that required the ability to execute quickly, problem solve, and effectively communicate with diverse groups of people.
• In lieu of Bachelor's degree, a high school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 5 years of relevant experience will be considered

• Ability to accurately complete tasks that require a keen attention to detail 
• Proficiency with computer software (e.g., MS Word, Excel, Outlook)
