Responsibilities

Reporting to the Senior Engineer of Construction or his designee, the Office Engineer will be responsible for the administration of all contract change documents, i.e. PACCs, Change Orders, Lump Sum Conversions and the processing of all increases in authorizations. 

Responsibilities also include but are not limited to the following:

  • Review all Post Award Contract Change and Change Order packages for completeness prior to issuance to the Senior Engineer of Construction – Contract Administration for conformity review.  Track all of the aforementioned packages for approval by the Chief of Construction and the Chief Engineer, as required.
  • Review all Conversion packages, Lump Sum or Unit Price for completeness prior to issuance to the Senior Engineer of Construction – Contract Administration for conformity review.  Track all of the aforementioned packages for approval by the Chief of Construction and the Chief Engineer, as required.
  • Issue all change order and conversion documents to the Contractor for their endorsement; track and conform all change orders in Wintrak.  Coordinate said tracking with the necessary Resident Engineer Offices.
  • Review all Increase in Authorization documents for thoroughness and completeness and coordinate this review with the corresponding Resident Engineer’s Office.  Track and coordinate resolution of questions and comments generated during mandatory review period and track document through signatory process to full execution. 
     

 

Qualifications

Candidates must present the following qualifications to be considered eligible for this position:

 

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Architecture or a related technical discipline from an accredited college or university OR a minimum of ten (10) years of progressive experience in contract administration for construction projects.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Ideal candidates will present the following profile:

  • Demonstrated ability in reconciling financial information, proficiency in understanding contract documents and PA Specifications, ability to interact with internal staff and external professionals at all levels.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to work independently and prioritize as required.
  • Proficient in the use of software applications, such as Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to manage, and prioritize multiple assignments with multiple supervisors.
