The Sr. Project Manager, Security Technology Maintenance is responsible for supporting the on-going technology usage and maintenance of products and systems within the Office of the Chief Security Officer’s Security Operations & Programs Department (SOPD). The Project Manager will work with and aid end-users on maintaining existing and new technology deployed throughout the Agency, including all Line Departments and Port Authority Police Department. The Project Manager will create a multi-year vision for the evolution of technology and systems taking into consideration lifecycle management, capacity planning as it relates to expansion and modifications of systems, along with enhancements such as new feature-sets or modules that may become available via upgrades or patches. He or she will also drive collaboration with project management and uniform staff to ensure proper project planning and implementation occurs, and oversee the on-going management of major systems, including Computer-Aided Dispatch, Mobile Field Reporting, Records Management, Impound Management, and License Plate Readers, Card Access Control, CCTV, and other new and existing sensor based systems.
Candidates must present the following qualifications to be considered eligible for this position:
Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Networking, Information Systems or a related Information Technology field or equivalent professional experience.
Five years or more of progressively responsible experience working with technology based systems.
One year or more of experience supervising staff
Proven experience managing projects and programs related to deployment and maintenance of technology systems and associated support
Experience drafting policies, strategic documents, implementation plans, and interagency agreements, with an eye toward identifying and facilitating actionable outcomes from the gaps and options
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Strong presentation and facilitation skills
Must have experience on multiple hardware and software environments and be comfortable with complex multi-vendor systems environments
