Reporting directly to the Manager, Intelligence Center, the Intelligence Analyst will be responsible for recording, managing, analyzing, and reporting on all intelligence gathered by security programs Agency wide. The Analyst will be accountable for ensuring that day-to-day surveillance and intelligence operations are as effective as possible. Focus for this position will be on maximizing current information technologies at the Agency to achieve as complete a security perspective as possible. A substantial amount of intelligence will need to be condensed and summarized for managers and executives as necessary.

Corresponding with Agency requirements, this position will be part of the Security Operations and Intelligence Center (SOIC). As the operations and capabilities of the SOIC expand, it will be vital that the Analyst integrate this new capacity as quickly and precisely as possible to ensure smooth operations.

While most intelligence gathering will focus on Agency operations, it will be important that the Analyst contact other organizations for information. Accordingly, the Analyst will perform tasks, make recommendations, and work with a wide variety of staff to create a holistic intelligence picture as well as perspective for the Agency within the region. 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Manage daily operations regarding all security information and intelligence including recording, reporting, and analysis.

  • Communicate and collaborate with security staff internally and externally to strengthen agency intelligence and establish Agency perspective within the intelligence community.

  • Create weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports to communicate intelligence trends and operations.

  • Communicate with security personnel and facility staff to ensure the best use of current security capabilities.

  • Collaborate with department facilities and operation staff to solve routine and habitual security and safety vulnerabilities at Agency facilities and assets.



Candidates must present the following qualifications to be considered eligible for this position:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university.
  •  A minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience as a crime and/or intelligence analyst, wherein the incumbent’s duties included the extraction and analysis of data, the identification of emerging trends, and demonstrated research ability culminating with written reports and/or briefings.


Ideal candidates will present the following profile:

  • Familiarity with intelligence and security technologies, hardware, and software
  • Superior interpersonal skills to interact with staff at all levels, supporting departments, consultants and outside agencies.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Port Authority management process and procedures.
  • Proven ability to identify problems, assess the accuracy and relevance of information, use sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, develop consensus, and make recommendations.
  • Demonstrated ability developing successful strategies to achieve broad program and business goals and understanding the impacts on various key stakeholders both within and outside the Port Authority as well as how they interact.
  • Extensive experience and knowledge of the principles, methods, and tools for developing, scheduling, coordinating, and managing initiatives and resources.
