Location: 4 World Trade Center
Reporting to the Manager of Technical & Maintenance Services, Asset Management Division, the selected candidate will be responsible for a broad range of technical services in support of the Department’s core business areas Core areas include: Capital and Operating Major Work Programs, Tenant Alterations, Contract Services, Permit Agreements, and Maintenance Management. Responsibilities of the position include a significant component of technical support for facility systems including electrical, electronic, mechanical, and communication systems. The selected candidate will:
Manage TB&T Permit Agreements and maintain agreement database
Provide technical reviews and project management support for TB&T’s Tenant Program
Provide daily oversight of As-Built Drawing Program efforts
Provide multi discipline technical services in areas including electrical, mechanical, communication, electronic systems, and communication systems in support of facility operations and TB&T core business areas
Provide regular support for the Department’s energy and utilities management agenda and coordinate efforts with staff at TB&T facilities and other PA departments including Engineering and OEEP
Provide support for TB&T maintenance management efforts including: Review of facility asset inventories and preventive maintenance (PM) rosters, performance of periodic field surveys of systems / equipment, and provision of troubleshooting / diagnostic services to help ensure optimum operation, asset management and investment.
Handle various requests from facility staff and outside entities
Candidates must present the following qualifications to be considered eligible for this position:
Must possess a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Architecture, or related discipline from an accredited college or university.
Registered Professional Engineer’s (PE) license in either NY or NJ highly desirable.
Five to Seven years experience in progressively responsible positions in the technical areas of Engineering/Architecture.
Must possess a valid driver’s license.
Must pass security background checks as applicable for the department and facilities.
Ideal candidates will present the following profile:
Demonstrated experience with the design /analysis of electrical, mechanical, and electronic systems such as electrical power, fire alarm, HVAC, lighting, communication, fire protection / plumbing, security, etc.
Demonstrated experience managing aspects of projects involving the construction, building, or maintenance trades.
Demonstrated field experience with building and facility systems (electrical / mechanical / electronic) including activities such as field survey, troubleshooting, performance testing, etc.
Proficient in the use of various computer programs such as Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Project.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to make concise presentations to a variety of audiences.
Knowledge of Port Authority executive policies, the business planning process, and the Port Authority budget process.
Registered Professional Engineer’s (PE) license in either NY or NJ.
Demonstrated experience with supervising technical staff highly desirable.
Proficient in the use of AutoCAD highly desirable
Demonstrated experience in plant or facilities operation /management highly desirable
